About the site
The name Faded Melody came about because I wanted a name with no foreign words and a name that sparked nostalgia. As one of my offline friends and I traded names back and forth, we hit upon 'Faded Melody'. I liked the name, it was short and easy enough to remember. And that is how the name was thought up.This site only offers Gaia Profiles and avatars because I wanted this site to be unique. Even though I could offer layouts, wallpapers, etc using my own style, it would take a lot of work and well, I'm lazy. Offering just Gaia Profiles helps me become focused on the quality of them, instead of having 3-4 sections to be worried about, I only have one main section to work on, therefore, the quality (and quantity!) will hopefully increase.
- I first started off on freewebs.com in 2005.
- Reiko and Kyoko offered to host me on their domain: silent-rhapsody.net in early December. I accepted and began moving the content over.
- http://clouded.silent-rhapsody.net, with the name Clouded Designs was created and officially opened on December 20th, 2005. The site offered Neopet & Gaia layouts, avatars, wallpapers and pngs.
- Sometime in mid 2006, I changed the name to Shizuka Skies. I also decided to stop offering Neopet layouts.
- In April, 2007, I decided to change the name to Faded Melody; I also decided to only offer Gaia Profiles and avatars on this site.
- On August 13th, the domain expired. Prior to this, the domain had also been temporary offline and when the site went back up a few days before the expiry date, I thought Reiko or Kyoko had re-newed it. Needless to say, I was wrong.
- On August 15, I applied for hosting at reiku.org by IcyAngel. On the same day, I got accepted and got to work re-coding and re-vamping all the pages.
- On August 26, 2007, Faded Melody located at http://faded.reiku.org, officially re-opened...
